UCL Betting Canada – Who Will Win the European Champions League
Regarding UCL betting Canada, we look at Europe’s premier soccer competition from the other side of the Atlantic.
Cream of the Crop is Starting to Rise
Although the group stage of this season’s Champions League has yet to be wrapped up, the cream of the crop is starting to rise to the top and with Europe’s elite once again showing their worth, the picture regarding potential winners is starting to be drawn.
A picture that involves those who have won European club football’s top prize on multiple occasions and those who are still waiting for their invite to the game’s truest elite. While it is a picture that can change shape and complexion throughout the season.
Even though 32 teams have the same dream of lifting this prestigious trophy, only one can fulfil it at the end of the campaign and after weeding out the minnows, here is our take on who could win the 2023 edition of the competition.
Teams in Contention
Manchester City – UCL Betting Canada
If there is one trophy that is missing from Manchester City’s trophy cabinet, it is the Champions League and although they have come desperately close to finally conquering the continent, this quest is still yet to be completed.
While this incomplete status is arguably the one blemish on Pep Guardiola’s record as manager of the Etihad outfit and should the Spaniard fail to emulate what he achieved at Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, some critics will call his managerial tenure a failure.
Of course, the best way to silence the doubters is by finally reaching the promised land and although the City squad was insanely talented before the start of this new season, their ranks were missing a genuine replacement for Sergio Aguero.
A replacement that has been found and them some and with Erling Haaland crushing any and all opposition that dares to stand in his way, the arrival of the Norwegian may finally solve City’s European conundrum once and for all.
Simply put, Pep Guardiola may never have a better chance to win the Champions League for his current employers and if he somehow fails to do so with a red-hot Haaland to call upon, football fans across the globe will be wondering how.
PSG – UCL Betting Canada
For all the points made about Manchester City above, the same could be said for PSG and although Ligue 1 have become nothing more than a playground for the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, they still cannot land the big one.
While the fact that Ligue 1 is a playground, should be something that works in PSG’s favour and with little need to get out of first or second gear, this is a team that should be raring to go by the time another Champions League night comes around.
At the same time, the fact that they are not tested on a weekly basis, may actually be the one thing that is constantly proving to be their downfall and the problem that manager Christophe Galtier has, is how to keep his players motivated throughout the season.
Should the former Lille boss manage to achieve this, then PSG will certainly be one of the more fearsome sides in the final stages of this season’s competition and with Lionel Messi now looking more at home in the French capital, his experience could be key.
Because Messi has the experience of getting over the line in the Champions League and if the Argentine can help marshal the troops in the latter rounds, then the Parisians could finally have a reason to truly celebrate.
Bayern Munich
Another team that should not be overlooked is Bayern Munich and with 10 successive Bundesliga titles to their name, they are always in the conversation when it comes to who could win the Champions League.
However, this is a Bayern Munich side that is operating in a post-Lewandowski vacuum and with the Polish forward now playing in Barcelona colours, the German giants are not as mighty as they previously were.
That is not to do the Allianz Arena outfit too much of a disservice, as they are now able to call upon the services of Sadio Mane instead and with the Senegalese forward settling well in Munich, he is almost proving to be a worthwhile replacement.
Then again, it is impossible to replace Lewandowski and therefore, all Bayern can do under manager Julian Nagelsmann is evolve and with the evolution proving to be rather painful on the domestic front, they will have to hope for better fortunes on the continent.
Of course, when this Bayern team does click and they usually do, they can be absolutely ruthless in front of goal and if any team is paired with them in the knockout phase, it is a fixture they wished they could avoid.
Liverpool
Another team that is going through something of a painful evolution is Liverpool and with them already being a considerable margin behind both Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League, they may have to put all their eggs in a European shaped basket.
Because with the title race not including the Merseyside men, it will at least give fuller focus to this competition and with Liverpool having a rather strong showing in the cup competitions in recent years, more European silverware may be the perfect tonic for such a difficult start to this campaign.
While if this is to be the case, the Reds will certainly need to up their game and after being mauled by Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, their hefty reverse in Italy was a rather sobering one.
Admittedly Jurgen Klopp’s men have improved since and after recording home wins against both Ajax and Rangers, there are starting to find their continental grove once more. This means by the time the knockout phase comes around, they should be travelling at full pelt.
A speed that they managed to reach last season and fuelled by the disappointment of losing to Real Madrid in the final, the greatest response to the current naysayers would be by lifting the trophy in Istanbul next June – a venue that this club know particularly well.
