The Flyers are off the back from a poor loss to the New Jersey Devils on Friday night. The 5-0 defeat was a bit of a shock and the next night they bounced back winning 7-2 against 1st place Washington Capitals. This sums up the Flyers hit and miss season. Philidelphia is missing Carter Hart and Joel Farabee for this game. Shayne Gostisbehere is currently on day to day but is unlikely to feature.
Florida suffered a 3-2 defeat in their last outing against Pittsburgh. The Panthers are averaging 3.53 goals per game so far in this season. Overall Florida is on a poor run winning 1 game from their last 5. The last time these teams met the Panthers came out with the home victory winning 5-2. While playing on the road to Philidelphia they are 1-5 in their last 6 games so I would stick with the Flyers for this one.
New York Islanders @ Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals were disappointing in their last outing against the New York Rangers losing 7-2 in a match they were strong favorites. Braden Holtby has been criticized for his average performances over the last couple of months. Even at that average would be considered a compliment by some. Washington will be on a mission to overtake the Bruins win record by the end of the season.
Most viewers will be focusing on how the Capitals will bounce back from their defeat and Alex Ovechkin’s target to join the 700 club. This is overshadowing the Islanders and may give them extra motivation for this game. A lot of eyes will be on Anthony Beauvillier with his recent form. New York will still struggle and the Capitals should bounce back to grab a win.
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Columbus Blue Jackets

Our Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay travels to the Nationwide Arena in order to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tampa Bay Lightning are 35-15-5 so far for this season and are coming off a six-game winning streak. During early January they had a 10 game win streak and are consistently looking to get back to that form. Tampa Bay has also been very good away from home with a 17-8-3 record.
The Columbus Jackets are sitting in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division. They would be a playoff team if it started today. They are not overly dangerous on offense but have a brilliant defense. They have conceded the second least amount of goals in the NHL. Tampa Bay Lightning’s form is good enough to nab the win here but do not expect a high scoring fixture.
